Sit Less, Live Longer?

A clip on CBC The National recently highlights new research pointing to the health hazards of sitting. The US study suggests that limiting the amount of time spent sitting to less than three hours a day might increase life expectancy by two years. Regardless of whether you have a formal workplace wellness program there is a lot that employers can do to encourage employees to move more. Walking meetings, frequent stretch breaks, taking the stairs and lunch time walking clubs or yoga classes are just a few ways to encourage an active working environment.
Get moving and live longer!
